Las Vegas Academy of the Arts (LVA) is distinct in the way that it provides students an interdisciplinary curriculum and the necessary freedom to develop as artists, designers, performers and scholars. At the same time, we strive for a level of rigor, investigation and cultural relevance that makes LVA truly special. Our students translate the most complex ideas into tangible forms. These include paintings, sculptures, films, performances, books, installations, projects and often a combination of the above.
Leaders in the community came together in 1993 to design a school to meet the needs of students with passion about their craft. Using a modified block schedule, students explore and develop their talents daily. This schedule allows them to dig deep into what motivates them. When a student has the opportunity of doing something they love, this tends to influence all aspects of their education. Not only do they excel in their art, but also in their academics.
