To ensure our students were on track to mastery, Ruben P. Diaz Elementary School involved students in understanding their own data. With student data folders and other schoolwide data progress monitoring systems, students tracked their own data, set data-related goals and action plans to assist them in meeting their goals. We celebrated students’ success in meeting grade-level targets, as well as those students meeting their own growth goals.
In addition, utilizing 21st Century Grant funds, we provided before-school and after-school academic, enrichment and extracurricular activities. This included activities such as, a writing club, homework club, Accelerated Reader (AR) club, novel studies, sewing club, soccer, guitar club and a performance of the Disney Jungle Book Kids.
